The Save Our Seas Shark Education Centre boasts a carefully selected collection of state-of-the-art exhibits that ensures that children and adults are able to learn through play and exploration.

This app offers a unique experience to participate in a Treasure Hunt where all the clues and answers can be found in our exciting exhibits. There are four adventures ranging from the introductory Shy Shark Adventure through to the challenging Whale Shark Adventure.

Each adventure will take you through the exhibits as you navigate the Kelp Forest, explore the Rocky Shore, hunt in Shark Central, unearth treasures in the Sandy Shore, learn how Sharks and People can coexist and do your part in Caring for our Planet.

There is an adorable shark waiting to be unlocked at the end of each Adventure. You could pose for a photo with the Shy Shark, surprise someone with the Guitar Shark, feed the Great White or show off the Whale Shark to your friends at home.

Ideally situated at the edge of False Bay in Cape Town, South Africa, the Save Our Seas Foundation Shark Education Centre overlooks the ocean and the distant Hottentots Holland Mountains. It was established in 2008 in a beautiful heritage-status building in Kalk Bay, right on the doorstep of the incredible Dalebrook Marine Protected Area – an apt location for a marine-focused centre, as Dalebrook is a sanctuary zone within the greater Table Mountain National Park Marine Protected Area. Our location means that children can engage directly with the marine realm, enriching our classroom and exhibition-based activities.

The Shark Education Centre is open throughout the year for school and group visits. Schools are welcome to contact us to enquire about available dates.
